Jon was surprised when Stephanie had picked up her mothers phone, he could hear raised voices in the background.
“Hey, your mom there?” He asked even though he heard her raised voice.
“Yeah she’s here, when are you coming to get us?” She asked.
“Sweetheart, you know you live with your mom and Greg now.” He told her.
“Don’t wanna, neither does J. J. or Jakey after these past three weeks.” She told him.
“What happened?” he was almost afraid to ask.
“Granny Graham called me a slut and what did she expect with a dad who pranced on stage,” She told him.
“She called you a what?” he almost yelled into the phone.
“A slut daddy, Then she got out her stick and was going to whack me with it till J.J. took it and broke the damn thing.” She told him, he could hear the tears in her voice to know she was crying. “The next day Grand dad took J.J. to the police station for threatening Granny. Daddy it was horrible. Jakey has been hiding under the bed afraid to come out.”
“Put your mother on the phone…now.” He told her.
“Yes daddy.” She said know that he was using his father voice.
“What the hell do you want now Jon?” She asked. “I called your cell and the SOHO number and got voice mail.” Dorothea told him.
“I was busy, I’m calling you now.” He told her trying to control his voice.
“That’s the point, you’re always busy.” She yelled.
“Look Dot, I didn’t call to get into an argument. You called and after talking to Stephanie I want to know what’s going on.” He tried to stay calm. After getting her usual reply when he returned her calls, it just got old and not worth the arguing that would happen if he took the bait.
“We were in Maui when I got a call from Steph that J.J. was being arrested.” She told him.
“Why didn’t they call me?” He asked her. Granted his cell worked while at the cabin and he didn’t get calls from his kids, so he had been thinking they were alright. He should have called to check on them…something he would have to change.
“I have no idea Jon; maybe they didn’t want to bother you while you were working? Isn’t that how you wanted things? I get the kids and you get to work twenty four seven?” She snapped.
“I am never too busy for my kids and you know it.” He finally snapped back.
“No you aren’t, you’re available to your family only when it suits you.” She yelled.
This was how things had been the last year and a half of their marriage. The yelling would start the kids would hide and then doors would slam and a car would leave. After a few days they’d be back trying to work things out till it started all over again.
“Look yelling and blaming each other isn’t getting us anywhere.” He said trying to calm the situation down. “The kids are what’s important right now.”
There was total silence on her side of the phone. He could still hear yelling in the background.
“Dorothea…I want to know what is going on, why is there yelling there?” he tried to stay calm.
“Can you come here tomorrow?” A voice that wasn’t his ex wife’s came over the line..
“Sure Greg, what time should I be there?” He didn’t have any problems with Greg, their divorces was between him and Dorothea, if anything it was over way before the split. He had to respect a guy who could take on his kids and their lifestyle.
“We have to be in front of the judge at eleven and then maybe it would be best if we met without lawyers to work this out.” Greg told him, the calm voice of reasoning, as he was holding Dorothea’s hand to try and calm her down.
“I’ll be there and I agree no lawyers, we can get this settled. I’ll see if I can get Lexie to watch Romeo.” He agreed. They had agreed that Romeo didn’t need to be there.
So now as he lay with Lexie cuddled to his chest his thoughts were on the call and the fact that their life had gotten more like a episode of the Twilight Zone than Father Knows Best. Reaching over he set the alarm, she never told him what time her meeting was, so setting it for seven sounded like a good number to start with. Kissing the top of her head he sighed and closed his eyes. Might be the last good night’s sleep he’ll get in a long time.

More adventures with Snowball...the Phone Call
“You should call her back and I’ll come back tomorrow and get Snowball.” She looked around for a place to go change.
“It’s too dangerous for you to walk back. Let me go call her and I’ll walk you back to your apartment.” He said not really wanting her to leave.
“You can’t go off and leave your son alone. I’ll be okay it’s only three blocks.” She told him just standing there looking lost.
“I don’t want you to leave.” He finally got out.
“Maybe it’s best I did. You need to call your ex and I have a meeting in the morning with my editor.” She still just stood there with her clothes in her hand. Seeing he wasn’t going to tell her where she could change, she set her shirt on the coffee table and started pulling her jeans on.
“You wait here let me call her and if you still want to leave then I’ll call for a car to take you home.” He told her as he watched her take off his shirt and put her sweater back on. Walking over the put his finger under her chin and lifted her face to look in her eyes. “Please”
She never should have looked in his eyes, because now she would do anything he wanted.
“Okay, I’ll wait for you to make your call.” She said softly.
Lowering his head till their lips touched he kissed her ever so gently. Stepping back he let his finger trail over her cheek.
“I’ll make it quick I promise.” He lead her over to the sofa and made sure she was comfortable and walked back into the kitchen, after grabbing his cell off the coffee table. All she head as the door closed was…
“Hey where’s your mom.”
Must have been one of his older kids, she sighed and watched the reflection in the wall of windows. Closing her eyes for a minute, her mind wondered back to the cabin and watching Romeo and Jon out building her a snowman. Things had been so perfect, maybe that’s what scared her, it was too perfect. He gave her time to work on her book and even went as far as making dinner one night when the words were flowing.
Her former boyfriend, live in lover had been just the opposite. Demanding her to stop writing and go to the Hamptons or Miami for fun. There was the trip to Aspen that she had to go with him, she was his arm candy, the famous author, she would open doors for his company…if she would just come out of her office sometime and just live a little. Spend some of that money she had made on her first book… back his latest project that had gone bust when she refused to give him the money.
Sighing she pushed those negative thoughts away and thought back to them sitting on the floor at the cabin with Romeo and Snowball laying on the sofa watching Disney movies and eating hot buttered popcorn.
Smiling she must have drifted off to sleep, because that’s how he found her once he hung up the phone. Smiling he went over and picked her up in his arms and carried her upstairs to the master suite. Half way up the stairs she cuddled to his chest and smiled in her sleep, he could have carried her all the way from SOHO to Central Park just feeling he snuggled in his arms. Putting her in the side of the bed he carefully undressed her then put her under the covers. Going back and closing the door he pulled off his jeans and got in on the other side of the bed. Once under the covers himself he felt her turn over and cuddle to his chest. Sighing himself he thought back to the conversation he had with Dorothea. The problems that had happened with her new in-laws had really put a downer on her honeymoon.

More Snow! Snowball that is!
Alexis had just enough time to pull on Jon’s shirt, thank God it was long enough to cover her butt.
“Hey buddy.” Jon intercepted his son. “See who came to see us?”
‘Hey Lexie, you brought me snowball!” he ran over and climbed on the sofa beside her.
“We came to visit but you were asleep.” She smiled down at him.
‘I got firsty and need some water, and there she was…just like four.” He nuzzled snowballs furry neck.
“She missed you buddy. We got home and she lay on her little bed watching the door for her little buddy.”
Jon came back with a juice glass of water. Romeo let Alexis take Snowball so he could drink his water.
“Okay little man, back to bed.” Jon took the empty glass and ruffled his hair.
“Come on Snow…” Romeo took snowball off Alexis lap and headed back to the stairs.
“I guess you have another guest for the night.” She laughed
“I don’t think he’ll give her up.” Jon watched his youngest head back upstairs.
When he got to the top he turned and looked down at his dad. “Night…daddy.”
“Night little man. Love ya.” Jon smiled.
“Love ya too daddy…bunches and bunches.” He yawned. Turning he headed to his room then turned and ran back to the top of the stairs.
“Night Lexie thank oo for bring me Snowball…Love ya.” With that he ran back to his room and shut the door.
Lexie just looked up at him and smiled and blew him a kiss. She turned at Jon’s voice.
“I don’t mind if you don’t?” He asked taking the glass back to the kitchen.
Lexie picked up the wine glasses and followed him into the kitchen. Putting the glasses in the sink she leaned on the counter.
“They look sweet together would hate to break up the pair. Did you ever see who it was that called?” She watched him go back to the living room for the wine bottle.
“My ex, she must be back from her honeymoon.” He corked the bottle and put it back in the fridge.
“Do you need to call her back?” She played with the hem of his shirt. The mood was definitely lost.
“I should or she’ll just call again. I don’t need her waking him up again.” He leaned against the opposite counter and watched her.
Why did we have to leave the cabin, it was perfect and you, you asshole, never had it so good. She had done her thing and you had done yours and it was nice not to have arguing all the time he thought and he must have sighed because she moved and headed back into the living room. Turning he followed her in and watched her picking up her clothes.
“You aren’t leaving are you?” He asked as once she had the clothes in her hand.

New Chapter finally
The phone stopped ringing but the mood was broken.
Jon looked down in her flushed face. He had to ask…
“Why did you leave without saying goodbye?” he asked softly.
“I didn’t want to say goodbye. So I wrote the notes and left. If I had waited till you got up, I never would have left.” She told him reaching up to trace his lips with her fingertip.
“So that would be a bad thing?” he kissed her fingertip them licked it.
“I had a deadline…you know what those are like.” She shivered at the touch of his tongue. “I came up there to get rid of my writers block and I got unblocked and it was time to leave.” Watching his head lower till his lips were inches from hers.
“So you left.” He whispered then lowering his lips those few inches and brushed his lips to hers.
“I had too.” She moaned as his lips brushed hers again before moving to her neck. “But not wanted too…I wanted to stay in our little cocoon and never come out till spring thaw.”
“We could have.” He said as he looked up at her hooded eyes.
“No we couldn’t, we both had agendas that were important and needed to be handled and then we had to get back to our normal lives.”
It was like a light came on in her eyes. He knew that light, he had the same light when he talked about recording. From the first idea until it was on paper, recorded and produced. Until that was accomplished life was on hold. That’s why his ex-wife had married one of her staff at the Dojo. By following his dreams he lost a part of that dream that didn’t want to go along for the ride anymore.
“You got your song and I got my book. We were great, but if we were to make it away from there, one of us had to leave.” She watched him get up and move so she could sit up.
“So you left.” He said softly watching her face.
“I left…If it was reversed and I was still there when we woke up, you would have left.” She told him.
Knowing she was right didn’t sit well with him.
“But I would have said goodbye and not left a note.” He mumbled. Closing his eyes he saw what it would have been like. Romeo would have pitched a fit leaving Snowball at the cabin and the drive home would have been ten times worse than it had been. Damn she was right.
“Maybe I was afraid…” She said softly. “Afraid that once real life stepped in things would be so different.” She lowered her head and he could hear the tears in her voice.
“I was afraid too. You awakened things in me that I thought had been asleep for the past year.” He went back over and sat beside her, lifting her chin he looked into her tear washed eyes. “I believe again. Believed that I was Superman and it wasn’t just this old faded tattoo.” Slowly he lowered his head and touched his lips to hers.
Her hands came up for frame his face. Just touching him and the warmth of his face, the texture of his six o’clock shadow that prickled her finger was pure tactile feelings. She got damp just from touching. Slipping her fingers down his neck to his shoulder, she couldn’t get enough of just touching him.
The moved in unison and the pieces seemed to fall into place, they were meant to be right here right now. His hands knew what to touch and her lips knew where to kiss. She watched as he began to roll the condom on, reaching up to assist only to get her hands moved.
“I want this to last darlin, touch me now and it will be all over.” He sifted between her waiting warmth.
This time it wasn’t a cell phone that rang it was the house phone. Jon groaned knowing that…
“Daddy…” came the sleepy voice from upstairs. “Daddy, Snowball’s in my bed!” His five year old son squealed.
“Ah…hell!”
That killed any mood that was left from the first time the cell phone rang. Jon was up condom being rolled down and grabbing his jeans and pulling them on, which took some doing on his fading erection. Alex slowly sat up, looking around to cover her body, spotted his shirt and put it on. Her heart was still racing when she heard Romeo and Snowball bounding down the stairs. Now she wishes they had never left the cabin, where there were no phones and little boys slept through the night.
Jon looked down in her flushed face. He had to ask…

Chapter 16
“Would you like something to drink?” Jon asked as they walked down.
“A glass of wine would be nice.” She said softly. The view from the windows, once again, taking her breath away. It seemed to draw her across the room. She didn’t know how long she stood there, lost in the lights and the darkness of the night.
Jon watched her from the bar as he selected a bottle of Wine. Damn I haven’t taken her coat…maybe Dot is right…I just don’t think sometimes. He snagged two glasses and the opener and brought them along with the bottle over to the window.
Placing the bottle, opener and glasses on the piano by the windows he went over and put his hands on her shoulders. Lexie leaned back to his chest. He moved a lock of hair away from her neck and slowly put his lips to her neck….she sighed.
He turned her around and unbuttoned her coat and removed it from her body. Letting it fall down her arms to the floor he stepped closer, Lexie’s arms now free from her coat wound up around his neck.
“Did you miss me?” Jon asked her as his lips claimed hers.
The feel of his lips on hers had her melting in his arms. It seemed time stood still… the only sound in the room was their mingled breaths and sound of lips on lips. As they slowly broke away Lexie looked into his passion filled midnight blue eyes she just smiled.
“After a kiss like that you have to ask?” Her fingers were lost in the hair at the nape if his neck. “Yes I missed you. I was really surprised when the Kidd showed up in my chat.”
He laughed a little and looked like a little boy who got his hand caught in the cookie jar.
“Its amazing what you find while surfing Google.” He laughed as he let her move out of his arms.
“I was shocked when one of my regulars asked me why Jon Bon Jovi was in my chatroom…thought you could slip in unnoticed.” She went over and looked at the label on the bottle. She had remembered what type of wine he liked…you learn a lot about a person in three weeks. “You think she would have been upset that we spent three weeks in a cabin in the mountains?” She handed him the bottle and the corkscrew.
He took the bottle and the opener and set to opening the wine.
“Do you tell them everything?” He cocked his head waiting on her answer.
“NO of course not…you don’t tell your fans everything…why should I?” She sat on the sofa and waited on him to join her with their glasses.
Filling both glasses he went and handed her one of the them. Sitting beside her, he thought back to the last night in the cabin…little wine…little music…then?
Taking a sip she looked at him waiting for an answer.
“Jon, you’re stalling…” She sat her glass down on the coaster on the coffee table.
“Your right I don’t…and you shouldn’t.” he said trying to figure out when the tables turned.
“Good answer.” She laughed. She turned on the sofa to look at him. “How did they like the song?” She asked then reached to retrieve her glass; taking a sip she let the taste of the exceptional wine flow across her tongue.
He loved watching her enjoy a glass of wine. It made him tighten in areas that hadn’t tightened since he left the cabin. He almost forgot the question she asked. Taking a drink of his wine he turned to speak.
“Hugh thought it was nice…his way of saying he liked it…Rich on the other hand asked who inspired me. He knew I wasn’t alone at the cabin…but he knew Romeo was not the inspiring love song type.” He chuckled.
I don’t know about that Jon…he had my dog moping the whole way home…if that isn’t love inspiring I don’t know what is.” She laughed. The wine making her more relaxed she slipped off her shoes and curled her legs under her.
Jon leaned forward and took the glass from her hand. Leaning closer he ran his tongue along the corner of her mouth. Sitting back he licked his lips.
“You had a little bit of wine there.” He smiled. Her cologne made him want to pull her down to his chest….slowly they shifted on the sofa until she lay at his side…her arm across his chest…her fingers lost in the hair at the nape of his neck.
“Why don’t you wear your hoops anymore…I used to see you as a pirate…trolling the seas for buried treasure.” She whispered as she touched her tongue to the indention where he had pierced his ears in the early 80’s. “I had a thing for pirates back then.”
“There I thought it did it to piss off my dad.” He chuckled…loving the way her eyes began to change from sea green to emerald as her breath became more shallow.
Reaching up her pulled her head down so he could put her lips to his. They shifted more until she was under him and he had one of his legs between her’s.
“It’s getting a little warm in here…” she moaned.
“Let me help you get cooler.” He smiled as he reached for the hem of her sweater. Slowly pulling it up and as she lifted her head… he pulled it up and over her head dropping it on the floor…”Better?”
“Oh Much…” she sighed. Bringing her hands up to unbutton his shirt helping him shrug it off his shoulders she dropped it with her sweater. “See”
“Oh yeah…” he moaned.
It didn’t take long till they shifted enough to remove all their clothes…their lips hardly parting. Hands rediscovering bodies…bodies shifting to align…minds thinking of only this moment in time…
Somewhere a cell phone rang…
“It’ll go to voice mail…” They both said breathlessly. Then both laughed… real life had a way of breaking the mood… almost…
“A glass of wine would be nice.” She said softly. The view from the windows, once again, taking her breath away. It seemed to draw her across the room. She didn’t know how long she stood there, lost in the lights and the darkness of the night.

Chapter 15
Lexie was closing down the laptop and smiled…Kidd hum? When she first saw that he was signed on, she was sort of shocked. Granted they had only been home one day, but he hadn’t called…but then again did I give him the number? She thought as she got up from the desk and nearly tripped over Snowball she was so distracted. Had she given him the number or hadn’t she? Oh well too late now.
“Come on snow lets get your little business taken care of.” She put the little dog in her sweater and snapped the leash to her pink collar; it didn’t take long to get down to the sidewalk. Not many people were out at this time of the night. They headed down Mercer to Bloomingdales; the night doorman always had a treat for Snowball.
All of a sudden Snowball began to pull on the leash.
“Snow honey!” She gasped. It was then she saw a man standing looking up the walk at them. As they got closer she dropped the leash as Snow ran and jumped on the man’s legs. She watched him pick up the over excited little dog, who proceeded to crawl into his jacket.
“Well someone is happy to see me.” Jon laughed as she settled against his chest, her small white head peaking out of the opening.
“I don’t think I would fit.” Lexie laughed.
Jon held out his arms, Lexie moved into the as if she was always meant to be there. His lips touched hers and they both sighed.
“I missed you.” They both said at the same time and laughed.
“When did you get home?” She asked him.
“Not long ago. Romeo was asleep half way home, but woke as I got him in bed, he was asking to see Snowball.” He told her as they walked hand in hand to the door of his building.
“If it means anything, I think, she misses him as much as he misses her.” Lexie said patting the top of the dogs head.
“Want to make them both happy?” He asked her.
Looking at the door and then up into his eyes she smiled.
“Let’s.” She said as she let him open the door for her.
“Tommy? This is Lexie.” Jon introduced her to the doorman.
“Hi Lexie, welcome to the Music Building.” Tommy tipped his hat to her.
“Thank you Tommy.” Lexie smiled as Jon pulled her to the elevator.
The ride up was in silence, just enjoying being together again. Jon squeezed her hand as the elevator stopped at the penthouse. Punching in the security code she heard the lock click as he swung the door open.
The first thing Lexie noticed was the wall of windows looking out on the New York skyline. The sight nearly took her breath away. You could possibly put her whole apartment in his living room.
Jon stood there watching her face in the moonlight coming from the windows.
“Wow, it’s beautiful.” She said softly.
He smile reached his eyes for the first time since he found the note in the cabin.
“Thanks, the windows were the selling point of the place.” He told her as he took Snowball from his jacket and placed her on the floor.
They both stood and watched her sniff the air. Tail wagging she headed to the stairs and ran up.
They both followed her, and were not surprised to see her jump on the bed and lay down in the bend of Romeo’s legs. The little dog sighed and closed her eyes.
“She really missed him.” She whispered as they backed out of the room.
They went back downstairs to the living room.
“Come on snow lets get your little business taken care of.” She put the little dog in her sweater and snapped the leash to her pink collar; it didn’t take long to get down to the sidewalk. Chapter Fourteen
Lexie had made it to the townhouse and got unpacked. Glad to be home, Snowball seemed to be looking for something…or was it someone?
Grabbing her home phone she called her editor.
“Hey, yeah I’m home. No it was great.” She listened to her editor asking her questions about the cabin and did it bother her that there was someone else there at the same time. It was then she noticed the flash of messages on her phone.
“Listen Max….I just got home. I still need to unpack. I’ll see you tomorrow when I drop off the disk.” She listened to him trying to get her to stay on the line. “Oops Snowball needs to go out. See you tomorrow Max.” She hung up.
“Snow, I know you miss Romeo…” She said to the little dog lying on the rug with a lost look in her eyes. “I miss him too. But you never know there might be a knock on the door any minute!” She sat on the floor by the sad little puppy. They sat there for over an hour, Lexie really wanted to believe that there would be a knock on the door any minute.
Jon pulled into the parking deck for the townhouse. Asleep in the backseat, Romeo had Snowballs letter still clutched in his hand. Parking in his allotted slot, Jon carefully picked Romeo up and carried him to the parking garage elevator.
“Daddy?” Romeo called to his dad. You could tell he was between stage of being awake and asleep.
“What you need Ro?” Jon asked as the elevator doors slowly opened.
“We go see Snowball today?” He yawned.
“Maybe tomorrow how’s that?” Jon said softly. He carried Romeo in and punched the button to take them to the street level of the garage. Carrying him across the street to the Music building he was glad that the night doorman was there to let him in.
“But snowball not sleep with me tonight. We need Lexie and Snowball.” He slowly let his eyes closed the last of what he said was in a whisper.
“We do Ro, we sure do.” Jon whispered to his sleeping son.
Once in the lobby he made his way to the elevator. The wait was short and soon he was inserting his key and pushing the button for the penthouse floor. The ride was quick and soon he was pushing the door open. Walking up the stairs to the second floor, he went to the room he set up for the kids visits. Laying him down gently on one of the twin beds, Jon pulled the covers back on the second twin bed. Moving his sleeping son to the bed her pulled off his sneakers and pulled the covers up over him, tucking them in he leaned over and kissed his forehead. Standing up he looked down at him, he noticed the letter still clutched in his hand. Careful not to wake him, he slowly slipped the crumpled envelope out of his hand. Placing the envelope on the nightstand, before leaving the room he turned on the Spiderman nightlight. Leaving the door cracked, Jon went into the office and fired up the computer.
It didn’t take long surfing the web to find everything he could on Alexis Maddison.
Alexis Maddison…Forty year old…former children’s writer… first time on the New York Times Best Seller List. Lives in the SoHo district of Manhattan…single.
Well hell he knew all this. Continuing on Google, he read more…Fanclub? He clicked on the link to her fanclub. Dang he had to join to read…what would be a good screen name? Couldn’t be a Jovi name…Kidd? Naugh too many people knew that nickname, dang Richie. But why not, so he filled in all the blanks and boom he was a new member of her fanclub. She was due to have a chat session and questions needed to be submitted. Why did you leave me? Was the first question that came to his mind…she wasn’t supposed to know it as him. Then he got an idea…typed the question and hit submit. Chat was to be at ten he had around an hour to wait. Heading into the kitchen he opened a bottle of Red and let it breath while he pulled out a block of cheddar and box of crackers…nice nosh to tide him over while he waited. Grabbing a tray he sat the food, goblet and the wine and moved back into the living room. The chatroom was filling up; none of the names meant anything to him. Picking up the goblet he sipped the wine and began to read what they were saying he noticed someone had said hi to him.
Sam: Hey Kidd, welcome to chat.
Kidd: Thanks Sam. Newbie here.
Isn’t that what they called new members on backstage?
Sam: The more the merrier. ASL
ASL, ASL, what the hell was ASL? Jon looked at the flashing cursor.
Sam: Thirty Two, Female, Louisiana.
Jon slapped his hand to his forehead…age sex and location…duh! Did I say New York or would that give me away? I could say New Jersey…Connecticut…ah hell.
Kidd: Forty seven, Male, New York.
Sam: We don’t get many men in here…welcome. Hey everyone we have a new member.
Suddenly all these welcomes came up. All of a sudden a new name appeared…it was her! He was sure it was Lexie, the screen name was Snowballsmomma.
Sam: Hey Lexie, we’ve missed you…how’s the new book?
SBM: Finished, on the way to my editor. Have to tell you...look’s like a no rewrite.
Everyone typed WTG and Jon went right along with them.
SBM: We have a lot of questions; let’s get to some of them. First question is from Sam…IS there still talk of a movie deal? Let me say this… yes the talks are still open. I have someone in mind to play Max.
Sam: Jon Bon Jovi?
Jon’s eyes got as big as saucers and he about spewed wine all over the screen. Movie deal, why hadn’t his manager told him? Wiping his mouth on his sleeve he decided not to try anymore wine till the chat was over.
SBM: Well…his name has come up once or twice. We haven’t actually approached his management just yet…but…
Sam: No it has to be Jon…he is the perfect Max.
He knew he liked Sam for a reason. Hadn’t Dorothea told him that if she didn’t know better…he was Max.
He read all the responses to the question and waited for his to be answered. It was almost midnight and it hadn’t been asked. He was getting worried that, him being new to the club it wouldn’t be asked.
SBM: I have time for one more. This one is from Kidd. Welcome Kidd, Kidds question is: Where do you get your ideas from and do you ever get blocked? Well Kidd, I have to say that the ideas come from the least little things. Something in the news or a song title will give me ideas, but writer’s block pops up when you least expect it. Yes I’ve had writers block, I had it with this new book.
That was all she was going to say? Yes she had writers block. Nothing about the cabin and the…wait a second she didn’t even know it was him.
SBM: well friends it’s time to take Snowball out for the last time. Thanks for the great questions and I hope I answered yours tonight. Oh yeah and Kidd…Snowball says hi!
Busted! Jon watched her sign out of the chat. He was just about to sign out himself when Sam sent him a private message.
Sam: Kidd, for a newbie you got your question answered. Don’t know if you know it or not, we meet here every Tuesday night for a private chat, you’re welcome to join us.
Jon smiled and thought about his mom and her old Tuesday night private chats. Would he come back? Why not, he might learn more if he did.
Kidd: Thanks Sam just might do that. Does Lexie come in?
Sam: Sometimes, she hasn’t in months. This was the first chat we have had in a month. She sent us a message she was taking a vacation and would have a chat when she got back.
Kidd: Once again Thanks Sam. Might see you next Tuesday. Got to go, got to work tomorrow.
It was all he could think about to get off the computer. He hoped she bought it.
Sam: Have a nice one Kidd. Don’t work too hard.
Kidd: Bye.
He signed out of the chat room and closed down the laptop. He had learned quite a bit tonight. Then it hit him…snowball needed to go out. Jumping up he checked on Romeo and grabbed his jacket. He was sound asleep, he headed to the elevator. Soon he was outside looking up the street. Was that her walking this way? Shoving his hands in the pocket of his jacket he started walking toward her.
Grabbing her home phone she called her editor.
